What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you join the Waxhaw Business Association, register online for our events, purchase products from our online links, subscribe to any of our publications, submit a comment on any of our blogs, fill out the ‘Contact Us’ or membership forms.
When doing any of the above, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or business name. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.
When you complete a financial transaction online with us using a credit card, we store the following in our database: your name, date of payment, Heartland™ authorization and cancellation codes, transaction’s reference number, type of payment, the last four digits of the credit card, the credit card expiration date, the cardholder name, billing address and shipping address.
What do we use your information for?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
· Listing in our online member directory. If you are a current WBA member, your company name, address, phone number, fax number and website are listed in our online member directory (if applicable). Other members may access mailing or phone lists. If you prefer not to have this information available, submit your request to wxwbusinessassociation@gmail.com
· Processing financial transactions and fulfilling requests submitted via forms. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
· Adding you to our publication distribution list. The email address you provide for order processing is entered in our database and added to our publication distribution. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.
We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our database to be only accessed by those authorized with special access rights to our systems, and who are required to keep the information confidential. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. Although we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you send to us, and you do so at your own risk. After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.
Your privacy is important to us, but due to the existing legal regulatory and security environment, the Waxhaw Business Association cannot guarantee that your private communications and other personally identifiable information will not be disclosed to third parties. Under certain circumstances, the government or third parties may intercept or access transmissions or private communications. Additionally, in the unlikely event the Waxhaw Business Association needs to investigate or resolve possible problems or inquiries, it can disclose any information about you to private entities, law enforcement, or other government officials as the WBA, in its sole discretion, believes necessary or appropriate, or to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on the Waxhaw Business Association.

Is my information or member account password protected?
Yes. You will be provided with an initial password to access your member account, which you may change as you see fit. You should not disclose your password or share it with any third parties.
